What Atlas is

Atlas is a voice-first personal assistant from Atlas Technologies in San Antonio, Texas. Atlas Technologies is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can talk to Atlas hands-free or type, ask questions, search the web, find places nearby, open your favorite sites and apps, and create PDFs, emails, logos, images and short videos. Sign-up is required for assistant use. New accounts receive 10 messages, 5 logos or images and 1 regular video free for the lifetime of the account; these allowances do not reset. Atlas Pro is $9.99 per month, with hands-free and phone access for Pro subscribers and admins. Avatar Videos is a separate $19.99 monthly add-on: one avatar video is free, then the add-on is needed for unlimited avatar videos; admins bypass payment. Personal photo avatars and voice cloning require the avatar add-on or admin access. Payments are handled by a secure payment processor — Atlas never sees or stores your card number.

Atlas v1, Atlas v2 and Atlas Deep Thinker

These chat modes use different response-generation settings: Atlas v1 emphasizes lightweight answers, Atlas v2 balances speed and detail, and Atlas Deep Thinker allows deeper reasoning. The selected mode is saved in your browser and restored when you return. Hands-free conversations use the selection for delegated thinking without changing the orb voice or phone voice. Modes do not guarantee accuracy or a fixed response time; important answers should still be checked.

Mode usage analytics

Outside Incognito, Atlas records mode changes, typed chat requests and completed typed replies to compare engagement across modes. These events contain only the selected mode, the previous mode for changes, and whether a completed reply was recovered after a connection interruption, with elapsed time. They do not include message text, attachments, names, email addresses or voice recordings. Restoring a saved selection does not count as a new selection. Hands-free requests are not included in these typed-chat events. Analytics can associate events with a visit and page and are subject to applicable consent and privacy controls. Elapsed reply time, particularly after recovery, is not the same as time actively using Atlas.

Who can use Atlas

Anyone 13 or older can use Atlas. If you are under 18, please use Atlas with a parent or guardian's permission. Atlas is for everyday help — learning, planning, writing, shopping, getting around and creative work. It is not a replacement for a doctor, lawyer or financial advisor; double-check important decisions with a professional.

What data Atlas collects

Atlas collects only what it needs to work. Here is the complete list:

  • Your messages and voice. What you type and what you say in hands-free mode, processed to answer you by Atlas and its service providers. Provider retention settings may apply to voice processing. Chats are saved on your device so Atlas remembers the conversation (off in Incognito).
  • Files and photos you attach. Only the ones you choose to send, used to read and answer questions about them.
  • Approximate location. Only with your permission, only to find places near you. You can turn it off in Settings at any time.
  • Account details. If you sign in: your email address and sign-in details, profile preferences, your confirmed full name for calls, and documents you choose to save to your account.
  • Images and videos Atlas creates for you. Kept in your Gallery on this account or device identity through online storage so you can download them later, including after a connection drops.
  • Feedback you send. Thumbs-down reports include the question and answer so we can fix problems. Authorized administrators can see the reporting account's email and the full submitted question, answer and comment.
  • Saved contacts and phone calls. Names and numbers you enter, caller and recipient numbers, call status, duration, messages, transcripts and summaries. Calls can be linked to the identified recipient's account for message delivery.

Atlas does not automatically read your device address book or browsing history outside Atlas, track your movements continuously, or collect anything from your camera in the background. We never sell your data and never use your conversations for advertising.

Your chats

Your conversations, including what you say in hands-free mode, are saved on this device so Atlas can remember the whole chat — and recall your other recent chats when you refer back to an earlier topic. Atlas also picks up preferences you've shared in past chats (like "I'm vegetarian" or "call me Sergio") from those saved chats and sends them with your message so answers fit you; nothing extra is stored for this. Turn on Incognito Mode in Settings to stop saving new chats and turn off all of that memory, and delete any chat from the chats panel at any time — deleted chats are no longer remembered.

Outside Incognito, typed and hands-free conversations can use the names and readiness of your saved personal avatars to answer questions about them. In Settings → Avatar privacy, you can review saved photo and voice previews and remembered name/status, delete photo or voice separately, remove saved avatar recall without deleting video resources, or delete everything for an avatar. Removing avatar recall ends an active hands-free session to clear its saved account context; previous chat messages and Gallery videos remain until separately deleted. This does not identify anyone by their face or change your conversation voice. Typed messages are answered by AI language models provided through our AI service partners, which are third-party AI model providers. Harder questions may get more processing time, and questions about current events may trigger a live web search, with the sources shown under the answer.

Voice and microphone

The microphone is used only while hands-free voice is open or while you are dictating. Your voice is processed live to understand and answer you. Phone calls use a separate AI voice agent and may be recorded or retained by the phone and voice providers according to their settings and policies. Atlas saves call transcripts and summaries. Recording a personal-avatar voice sample is a separate, consent-based action; the microphone is released when recording stops or the recording form closes. Atlas's live camera and camera-question feature is not currently available. Photos you explicitly choose to upload remain separate from live camera access.

Location

With your permission, Atlas uses your approximate location to find places near you and answer local questions. It stays on your device and is sent only with a request that needs it. You can refresh it or turn it off any time in Settings.

Files, photos and documents

Files and photos you attach are sent with that message so Atlas can read them and remember them for the rest of the chat. PDFs you save go to your phone (Files app) or, if you're signed in and choose to, to your private Atlas documents.

Account data

Avatar Videos subscribers and admins can upload their own portrait or full-body photo and a recording of their own voice to create a personal avatar. A head-to-toe source photo is needed to request a full figure; Atlas does not guarantee that a selfie can be extended into a body or that every output preserves full-body framing. Explicit consent is required before files are sent to the avatar and voice service. Atlas saves your account-linked avatar identifiers and consent date; the service processes and stores the source files, synthetic likeness and voice clone. These are sensitive personal data, not identity verification or face recognition. Delete your personal avatar to request removal of its likeness, voice clone and source assets from the service and remove the Atlas record. Existing Gallery videos remain until separately deleted; provider retention policies and backup retention may still apply. Personal avatar voices do not change hands-free or phone voices.

Signing in is required for assistant use. When you create an account we store your email address and sign-in details so you can return to Atlas and keep saved documents. We never sell your data and never use your conversations for advertising.

Avatar backgrounds and Gallery controls

When you choose a custom avatar-video background, that image is uploaded to the avatar service and processed with your selected avatar and spoken script to render the video. Only upload images and recordings you have permission to use. Generated media can be saved to your account or device Gallery. You can select and erase one or several Gallery items; erasing a Gallery item does not by itself delete a saved personal avatar, voice clone, source assets, previous chat messages or copies you downloaded elsewhere. Those have separate deletion controls.

Admin receipts and business documents

Authorized admins can upload receipt photos and business or legal documents to private account storage shared with other authorized admins. Records may include dates, times, descriptions, categories, notes and entered amounts. Receipt amounts can be left pending and added later; pending amounts do not contribute to operating-cost totals. Business paperwork is stored separately from receipts and does not change expense totals. Admins can review, edit and delete these records and files. Do not upload personal or confidential information without authority to do so.

Links and other apps

When you tap a link, a map or an "Open" button, the other site or app (for example a maps, video, shopping or email app) opens and its own privacy policy applies.

AI and service providers

Atlas uses outside services to operate the app, process AI requests, synthesize speech, connect phone calls, render talking avatar videos and store data. These include a cloud hosting provider for accounts and storage, third-party AI model providers for answers, a voice synthesis provider for spoken and phone voices, an avatar video provider that renders a chosen on-camera avatar speaking your words, and a telephony provider for phone calls. AI requests, attached files, voice and call information are shared with the services needed to perform the requested task. Their retention and processing policies also apply; Atlas cannot promise that all provider copies are deleted when you delete a local chat.

Payments for Atlas Pro are handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle receives the purchase and payment details needed to process your order, manage your subscription, handle tax compliance and invoicing, and provide customer service for purchases. Atlas never sees or stores your card number.

Phone identity and acceptable use

Calls require a signed-in account and an explicitly confirmed real first and last name. After you first set that name, one self-service change is allowed. Further changes require manual identity review by email, including ID, a letter explaining the change, your photo and a selfie. These are sensitive documents; contact Support for approved submission instructions before sending them. No in-app document upload or automatic identity verification is provided. A saved name is not proof that identity has been verified.

Use calls only with appropriate permission and for lawful purposes. Prank calls, impersonation, harassment and abusive use are prohibited. Atlas does not support emergency calls, including 911. Use your own phone for local emergency services.

Call messages, notifications and retention

Inbound messages are assigned by confirmed first and last name. If a name is ambiguous, Atlas must not guess or deliver to several accounts. Call outcomes are stored online; messages can generate in-app alerts and permitted browser notifications. Archive hides a call from recent history without erasing it; Delete removes its Atlas call record and transcript, not records held by the phone or voice provider. Incognito disables chat memory, but does not make phone calls anonymous or disable account-linked call records.

During a call you initiate, the phone agent may send an in-app question for missing details and use your reply in that call. Unanswered questions expire. This phone-only exchange does not change the hands-free orb or its voice preferences; information you provide is processed as part of the call.

Your controls

You can request access, correction or deletion of account data through Support. Account-linked records are kept until deleted or no longer needed to provide the service; service-provider retention can differ. Browser storage is used for sessions, device identity and preferences. Atlas does not provide a public fixed retention period for identity-review emails; ask Support about storage, access and deletion before submitting documents.

Delete any chat, turn location off, turn Incognito on, sign out, or delete your account from Settings. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes everything stored on this device.
